PROCESS AND QUALITY CONTROLLER
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
•Proactive and immediate problem solving to ensure reduced failures on product quality and machinery
•Assist and resolve process issues in the plant.
•Ensuring that the machines are operating optimally and efficiently.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Proactive and immediate problem solving to ensure reduced failures on product quality and machinery
•Assist and resolve process issues in the plant.
•Report actively through Operations management plant machinery defects and audit corrective actions.
•Implement, train and audit corrective actions on plant QC processes and quality criteria with shift management and staff
•Daily reporting on all findings and recommendations to the Quality Process Manager and Production Manager.
•Ensure the mixing instructions are being followed as per the Bill of materials (BOM)
•Ensure the correct raw materials are being utilized.
•Ensure correct temperatures on the machines are set as per the BOM.
•Ensure the machines are running as per the set SIC’s in terms of temperatures, speeds and outputs
•Ensure that QC check the first mix for all runs and that all relevant information is being recorded.
•Record and monitor all machine hours, stoppages and breakdowns.
•Ensure that all QC tests are being conducted as per the procedure.
•Check automation resin hourly as per the currently running BOM.
•Ensure small packs are being weighed correctly and that batch control procedures are being adhered to.
•Ensure the correct materials are being issued to the plant
CANDIDATE:
Team Player who is prepared to take on own responsibilities and capable of making calculated decisions.
Code 8 or 10 drives licence with own vehicle
REPORTING TO:
Process & Quality Manager
WORKING HOURS:
Rotational Shift work
06h00-18h00 & 18:00- 06h00
SALARY:
Market Related
PROBATION:
3 month probation period.

GENERAL SKILLS/ ATTRIBUTES:
Must be an excellent communicator
Strong Supervisory/ Management Skills
Problem solving skills
Ability to manage people
Good business acumen
EXPERIENCE:
•3-5years in a Manufacturing environment
•Plastics or Polymer related Qualification
•Supervisory Management experience
•Experience in PVC Manufacturing will be advantageous
QUALIFICATION:
•NQF 5 in Plastics Manufacturing or equivalent experience
•Matric Certificate (with Mathematics) plus related qualification
•Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
•Possess strong Leadership qualities
•Computer literate
•Previous working experience in a plastic manufacturing environment
•Be willing to work shifts and weekends
