Without a skipper license in South Africa you cannot get finance to purchase a boat, insurance will not pay out when you in an accident and a person can be criminal charged if someone is injured. Authorities are now clamping down on unlicensed skippers in an attempt to make our waters safer. With more than 4,000 students through our training center over the past 8 years we have found that even the experienced boaters do not always know the rules, regulations and procedures to keep our waters safe.
With the fast pace of modern life it is not always possible to organize a day or two to sit in a classroom. In some cases, people have to travel far to reach an approved facility.
